Every NBA team scored as a roto fantasy team. The title the NBA never hands out.
Roster: every team is its top 10 players by minutes that season. A fixed roster keeps the counting stats fair: no bonus for a deep, injury-churned bench.
Scoring: true roto. The teams are ranked in each of the 9 categories (FG% · FT% · 3PM · PTS · REB · AST · STL · BLK · TO; fewest turnovers ranks best), placement points are awarded in each (worst = 1 … best = the number of teams), and the 9 sums add up to the Roto total. Older seasons score only the categories tracked that year.
A team can be Roto Champ without winning the real title: that gap is the whole fun.
The Golden State Warriors won the 1974-75 Roto Champ with 107.0 points, edging the Buffalo Braves by just 1.0. Their title was built on points, rebounds and steals, where they ranked 1st, 1st and 1st, with no category below 8th. The two were built in opposite directions: the Golden State Warriors took 10.0 points across rebounds and steals, while the Buffalo Braves took 8.0 back across free-throw percentage and blocks. This season is scored on seven categories, not nine: three-pointers and turnovers were not tracked yet.
Every season’s champ, decided by the box score instead of the bracket. The badge shows how that team actually finished.
Roto championships all-time, with relocations merged into one franchise.
